Quahog pearls are found in the clam Mercenaria mercenaria, known also as the Northern quahog. These pearls range from white to creamy white and brown as well as from faint pinkish purple to dark purple. Quahog pearls are mainly found along the Atlantic coast of North America as far as the Yucatan Peninsula.
